Father Scott J. Carpentier


Father Scott Carpentier, son of Donna (Goulet) and Andre Carpentier of Woonsocket, graduated from Woonsocket High School and attended the Community College of Rhode Island before entering the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Theology and a Master’s Degree in Theology. 

In 2009, he entered the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence and attended Providence College.  He continued his seminary studies at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, Massachusetts.

In 2010, he attended the Institute for Priestly Formation at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.  While a seminarian, Carpentier’s summer assignments included St. Luke Parish, Barrington and St. Philip Parish, Greenville.   He was ordained to the transitional diaconate in 2012 by Bishop Robert C. Evans and assigned to serve as a deacon at St. Patrick Parish in Providence.

On June 1, 2013,  Father Scott  was ordained to the Priesthood in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul by Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence.
