Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Posted on Feb 8, 2017

Opportunity to Travel to the Holy Land:

January 9-18, 2018

Father Forcier invites you to join him and your fellow parishioners for an inspiring pilgrimage to the Holy Land next January. Many people refer to the Holy Land as a 5th Gospel, where the people, places and events of the scriptures come to life. Imagine walking along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, or the streets of Nazareth, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem, and tracing the footsteps of Jesus along the Via Dolorosa toward the Basilica built over his tomb and site of crucifixion. Our program would include round trip flights to Tel Aviv from Boston, accommodation in 4-star hotels, breakfast/dinner each day, and a thoughtful and rich program visiting historical and religious sites each day – including the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, Mt. of Beatitudes, Magdala, the Jordan River, Mt. of Olives, Bethlehem, the Dead Sea, and major sites in Jerusalem including the Via Dolorosa, the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall and much more. We will travel during a time of the year when crowds are lighter and rates are lower. The cost of the program will be about $3000 per person based on double occupancy. We would like to know how many people are interested. If you could email the parish office or call and leave your name/contact information, we will then convene an info session later in the winter to present more details about the program and invite people to register. You can email us staugprov@verizon.net or call 401-831-3503.

Eucharistic Adoration on the First Fridays of the Month

Eucharistic Adoration

on the First Fridays  of the Month

On Friday, February 3, 2017, we will begin to offer Eucharistic Adoration here in the parish on the first Fridays of the month (excluding June through August) from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM when Benediction will take place. We will need at least TWO adorers to commit to a one hour interval during that period. Please let Fr. Forcier know if you are able and willing to be prayerfully present in front of the exposed presence of Our Lord during that time. After providing some instruction to the students on the meaning of Eucharistic Adoration, we will have grades from St. Augustine School take turns coming to church to pray at God’s altar.
We know that Eucharistic devotion bears tremendous fruit for communities of faith. What better way to start the new year here at St. Augustine’s than seeking the Lord’s grace in the most Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist?
