The sacrament of Confession (Reconciliation) is offered every Saturday from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the church. Two priests are available for the sacrament.

How to make a good confession:

  1. The first step in the receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation begins before ever setting foot in the confessional. Pray to the Holy Spirit to enlighten you and give you true sorrow for your sins.
  2. Make an examination of conscience and make a firm resolution not to sin again and to avoid the near occasion of sin
  3. In the confessional, make the sign of the cross and say, “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. It has been ___ weeks/months/years since my last confession and these are my sins.”
  4. Confess your sins openly and candidly. Mention all your mortal sins, as best you can remember, and the number of times each was committed.
  5. The priest will give some advice and your penance to be completed after you leave the confessional.
  6. Pray an Act of Contrition such as: O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You.I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they offended You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love.I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance, an to amend by life. Amen.
  7. The priest will give you absolution.
  8. After leaving the confessional, promptly perform your penance.
